I've tested and checked switching while having a look within Emuflight when connected to USB, and I can also tell because Airmode switches on when choosing horizon mode as well (I've set it up to automatically turn on airmode when using horizon or acro mode and turn off when in stability mode), so on the receiver side, it seems to be configured correctly. I have flashed it with Emuflight and it performs fine in angle mode (aside from a flickering OSD when using full throttle on 3s, but that is probably due to some bad soldering from my side, fixing a loose connection between VTX and Camera and having to removing liquid electrical tape, at least I think, ground wires seem to be ok, anyway, that is a different issue). I was finally able to try out my Eachine Cinecan outside last weekend. I was trying to do a roll (for the first time) in horizon mode, but can't seem to be able to change angle untill a certain degree, so it seems some angle limit remains active somehow.
